Day 1: Saying Hello
Learn what to expect from an abortion healing group with An Even Place
Introduction
It can take time to get to the point of joining a healing group. Abortion is devastating and can leave you in shock wondering what to do next, fearful of the ramifications, and locked in shame so as to never tell anyone what you have done. Shock, fear, and shame, are powerful forces in our lives often addressed only when controlling the emotions becomes overwhelming and wearisome. In that day, a woman will decide she can no longer live with the recurring, out-of-control emotions and seek help from others. Maybe you are finding this to be true in your life or maybe there are times you can no longer manage these feelings on your own. It is our hope the material in this devotional will aid you in healing and give you the courage to take the next bold step towards committing to a healing group.
The devotional is designed to help you on your healing journey. There are often many layers as we heal. Working through the devotional material you will gain a good taste of the content of our group discussions. Hopefully you will receive enough truth to layer a soothing balm to bring a measure of calm and peace for your wounded soul. Ultimately, instilling in you enough confidence to sign up for a group and go deeper into God's word where healing is complete.
The introduction is designed to meet you right where you are, whether in the middle of a sleepless, anxious night, or during a day of confusion and trouble as you working through how you feel while fulfilling your daily obligations.
We pray you receive some assurance to the questions and confusion swirling in your heart, that you learn how beautiful the study is, that you become introduced to God in the midst of your shame and regret. Ultimately, that you begin to hope there is promise for your future, God can use you despite your choices, and healing is possible.
